Registration process

You must create an account with us to use our services and access our vehicles.

Creating an account is free and should only take a minute.

You will need to download the app and click register to begin. Be sure to have your driver’s licence handy as you will need to take a photo to verify your identity.

Requirements

  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must have an open driver’s licence. Learners, Provisional and Probationary licences are not accepted.
  • Your driver’s licence must not have any restrictions, and must not be cancelled or suspended within the last 2 years.
  • You are not bankrupt and have not been bankrupt at any point within the last 7 years.

Taking your photos

Ensure you follow the recommended steps so your application can get processed quickly:

  1. Take the photos in good lighting. Make sure there is no glare on your licence, and the text is readable.
  2. The edges of the driver’s licence must be visible.
  3. When taking the selfie, hold your licence in your hand and take the photo with the licence visible. Do not cover your face and make sure you remove your sunglasses and hat.
  4. Screenshots of identity documents do not suffice and will not be accepted.

Additional information

At times, we will request more information regarding your application to verify your identity. This may be due to unclear photos being submitted, our background checks not being able to be processed, increased risk score or randomly.

We may require you to re-take your selfie, the photo of your driver’s licence or request proof of residency. International visitors may be required to take a photo of their passports.

Proof of Residency documents must show your full name and address. You may upload:

  • Utility bill (gas, energy, home phone)
  • Rental or lease contract
  • Mobile phone bill
  • Rates notice
  • Registration or driver’s licence renewal notice
  • Insurance policy document.

Additional Information requests will come from a help.riide.com.au address from a support member. You may upload your documents with the chat link in the email. Ensure any files you submit are on the riide.com.au domain.

The chatbox on our website is encrypted using TLS, which may be more secure than your email client.

How long does it take to get approved?

The approval process is completed manually by our staff and may take 24 to 48 hours to complete. If you would like an update, please contact us after 24 hours.
