I can’t lock or unlock the vehicle


Lock/unlock depends on your phone connection and the vehicle being able to receive a signal. If the car is in a low-reception area (e.g. underground, rural areas), commands may not go through until it has coverage again.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Check your phone
    • Make sure mobile data is on (or you have stable Wi-Fi)
    • Try disabling your VPN or proxy, if you have one enabled
    • Turn off airplane mode
    • Ensure the RIIDE app and your phone are up to date
  2. Restart the app
    • Fully close the RIIDE app via multitasking (swipe it away), reopen it, and try again
  3. Retry once (don’t spam the button)
    • Tap Lock or Unlock, then wait 10–20 seconds
    • Try once more
  4. Improve reception
    • If the car is underground or in a low-signal area, move to an open area and try again
