I found damage on the vehicle before I started

Before driving, please do a quick walk-around check.

If you notice any damage, tap Report before unlocking. If you find any issues once you have access to the vehicle, report it straight away. This helps protect you from being held responsible for pre-existing issues.

If you notice damage before the start of your booking:

  1. Report it in the app before driving
    • Use the in-app Report Damage feature as soon as you notice it.
  2. Take photos
    • Take a wide photo showing where the damage is on the vehicle
    • Take a close-up photo of the damage
    • If it’s relevant, include a photo of the number plate
  3. If it looks unsafe, don’t drive it
    • Examples: flat tyre, loose panel, major body damage, warning lights, leaking fluid.
    • Do not drive or attempt to start the vehicle
    • Contact RIIDE support on 1300 580 175

When you start a booking, you’ll be prompted to confirm you’ve inspected the vehicle and that the fuel card is present. If anything looks wrong (or you notice an issue once you have access to the vehicle), tap Report as soon as possible.

If damage happens during your booking (or you have an accident)

For step-by-step instructions (including emergencies, breakdowns, and accidents), see our Breakdowns and Accidents page.

If you need help in an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).
